Mason Green Private Estate - Local Park

Mason Green logical choice for Scientists' first home

After seeing families enjoy the parks and play areas at Mason Green, first homebuyers Scott and Irma Cornwall knew the private estate would be the perfect place to bring up their daughter Maja.

The young family, who have been living in the area for the past seven years, have bought a 450sqm block in Stage 7 of Mason Green Private Estate, which is being developed in Piara Waters by QUBE.

Dr Cornwall, a medical scientist, and Mrs Larma-Cornwall, a Senior Research Officer, say they want their 16-month-old daughter Maja to grow up in a modern suburb with parks and play areas within walking distance where she’ll be able to safely play with other children.

“This is exactly what we see at Mason Green,” Scott said. “We see it as a very child-friendly neighbourhood with many parks and play areas.

“We also like that it is close to new schools, shopping centres and transport links, and have noticed that families are out and about in the evenings and on weekends, and that they are very friendly.”

The couple have signed up to build with Home Group WA. They are currently renting and say they can’t wait to have their own place.

“Home Group WA has been very helpful,” Scott said.

With Titles and settlement due any day, it’s all systems go on the design and selections for the Cornwalls’ new four-bedroom home, which the couple hope will be ready to move into by the end of this year.

“Our block is only streets away from where we are now,” Scott said. “We have watched Mason Green grow and develop in the past two years and have seen blocks being snapped up really quickly.

“If you’re thinking about buying at Mason Green, my advice is don’t hesitate to talk to the estate manager, Kaylene McTernan.”

Blocks in Stage 7 are close to Marrinup Park, the 2.3ha centrepiece of Mason Green where local families will be able to enjoy barbecues, shaded picnic tables, nature-style play equipment, a table-tennis table, a tennis hit-up wall and fitness equipment.

Mark Hector, Managing Director of QUBE, said plans for the park also included a large area of retained bush with a centre boardwalk through the middle showcasing the retained environment.

“The park is being built in two stages, with the work on the first phase to start in April 2018 and the main features of the park completed by the middle of this year,” Mr Hector said. “The second stage of works will be completed in 2019.”

Just over half of the 430 blocks to be developed at Mason Green have now been completed.

Blocks in Stage 7 range in size from 313sqm to 662sqm and are priced from $239,000 to $329,000. A $7,000 discount is available for a limited time.

“Titles for Stage 7 are imminent, but several purchasers, like the Cornwall family, took the opportunity to secure their chosen block ahead of time,” Mr Hector said.

Just a 30-minute drive from the CBD, Mason Green has quickly become established as a sought-after address thanks to its natural surroundings, proximity to the city, established amenities and attractions, and competitive pricing.
